OpenGL – Multi-head display system

What tools, APIs, and libraries can I use to create a real-time rendering of high-resolution 3D scenes on a monitor composed of 4, 8, 9, 16 screens/projectors system? For a setup with 8 projectors, should I choose a cluster solution, or should I use a single node with 4 dual-head graphics cards? Does anyone have experience in this area?
Equalizer may be one of the better solutions you will find.

It is specifically used to split the rendering and distribute them on the display.

Description:

Equalizer allows the user to scale rendering performance , visual quality and display size. An Equalizer-based application runs unmodified on any visualization system, from a simple workstation to large scale graphics clusters, multi-GPU workstations and Virtual Reality installations.

Equalization Example of using the device:

Render Wall

I have tried something similar without the Equalizer, and I can honestly say it’s terrible. We just barely worked. After finding the equalizer later, I couldn’t imagine using it How easy this tool will be.
