Amazon RDS Performance Insights is used to monitor the load of your Amazon RDS database instance, allowing you to analyze database performance and troubleshoot database performance issues. Amazon RDS Performance Insights is currently available for use with the following database engines:

Amazon Compatibility of Aurora and MySQL version 2.04.2 and higher 2.x versions (compatible with MySQL 5.7)

Compatibility of Amazon Aurora and MySQL Version 1.17.3 and higher 1.x version (compatible with MySQL 5.6)

Applicable to MariaDB version 10.2.21 and later version 10.2 of Amazon RDS

Note
MariaDB version 10.0, 10.1, or 10.3 or MySQL version 5.5 or 8.0 does not support Amazon RDS Performance Insights.
For Amazon RDS for MariaDB and MySQL, the following database instance classes do not support Performance Insights: db.t2.micro, db.t2.small, db.t3.micro, and db.t3.small.
On Aurora MySQL, db.t2 or db.t3 database instance classes do not support Performance Insights.
The Aurora MySQL database cluster enabled for parallel query does not support Performance Insights.
