There is currently no documentation on how to make a “shading” HUD for cardboard games on Unity. Screen space-coverage is not used as a rendering mode as many people have already said. Is there Does anyone know a workaround/method of using World Space rendering to make it?
You must create a HUD in the World Space canvas, place it in front of the camera and attach it to the Cardboard SDK Head object. In this way, it can always be seen in front of the player.
