I am looking for a tool or method that can convert my huge old database into active record model definitions…like reverse engineering…
This is not a reverse engineering problem, it is more like a question of “whether the legacy database conforms to the activity recording convention”. Most people don’t. According to my experience, in the data It’s almost easier to do some migration work at the end to put it in a state so that it does comply with these conventions. Rails is a very self-righteous software, and the less you argue with it, the happier you are.
My two cents…
