Regular expression – there is no slash

How will I make this rule so that you can access it with and without slashes? 

RewriteRule ^members/([^/]+)$members.php?id=$1 [L]

RewriteRule ^members/([^/]+)/?$members.php?id=$1 [L]

Just added “/?” and finally said to find a trailing slash but? Say it doesn’t have to be there.
