If you are registered as an Apple developer, you can download the IOUSBFamily code version with logging enabled; it is equipped with the “USB Prober” application. This may let you do something you want. I’m not sure if Apple Provide any code in the standard version of the USB code so that you can get this type of information from the USB stack.
