I am looking for a single X4 Mini-SAS SFF8087 connector MegaRAID SAS 9240-4i Sgl card. As far as I know, this connector can be expanded to 4 SATA disks. So, I know how to connect 4 SATA disks. However, the documentation says it supports up to 16 disks in a RAID volume . My question is; how to physically connect these 16 disks to a card with only one connector?

Yes, this is where the SAS expander, chassis backplane and branch cable come in. You can get it from the SFF-8087 mini-SAS connector A breakout cable that can provide 4 ports.
