Amazon-EC2 – EC2 putty connection problem

I have followed Amazon’s instruction letter, but it doesn’t work.

ec2-api-tools-1.3-34128 – This is my order from Amazon The api tool obtained
set up as instructed. Check everything to make sure I follow the instructions. When I try to use it, I only get: “invalid.blabla” depends on the command I am trying to use.
Someone Do you have this problem?

I deleted all instances and all key pairs.
Created a new one (instance and key pair).
Set up Putty again just like what I should do
(Create .ppk file and everything).
The problem still exists.
When I try to connect to my ec2 instance using putty
I get “Login as:”????????

Also, I am using Windows Vista.
This is a problem.

Thanks

has the same problem. I found that I had to do three things in Putty (only two of them are mentioned in the Amazon guide, http://docs.amazonwebservices.com /AmazonEC2/gsg/2007-01-19/putty.html)

>Provide the converted private key in ssh ->Verification section
>Provide DNS name or IP
>Go to Connection -> Data and enter “ec2-user” as the automatic login username

I hope this saves 20 minutes!
