Homebrew – Modify the source code for Home Brew Pack

I installed a homemade software package (qt). I want to modify the source code and rebuild the package. But it seems that the source code can not be found. brew -cache returns a directory that does not exist, and the code of qt is not in /usr/local/Cellar. Am i missing something? After the application is built, does homebrew delete the source code?
Homebrew only keeps binary files. If your Homebrew cache directory (usually located at /Library/Caches/Homebrew, but you can use brew –cache, as you pointed out) is moved or deleted, then you will have to get the source code again. You can use brew fetch qt to get the source code.
