iPhone – Platform Independent Mobile Application

To what extent can we consider platform independent mobile applications? The idea behind this question is-use less effort to build the same application for different platforms such as Android, iOS, Symbian, etc.

I checked some tools and got an Open Plug. Will Explore as soon as possible. What are your thoughts?

Edit:
Then I started to explore PhoneGap. I found that using HTML, CSS, JS to build applications is enough, we can also include JQueryMobile and Sencha Touch.

Appcelerator is a good choice for non-gaming applications, it uses native UI elements instead of running the application in a mobile browser A program that allows you to code in JavaScript and deploy from a project to Droid, iPhone, iPad and Blackberry.

For games, I will take a look at Corona. This allows you to develop Droid and iPhone, this is easier than JavaScript. They recently released a beta version of the Windows SDK (previously only the Mac version). This is a great SDK, but it lacks the controls needed for non-gaming applications.
