How long does it take to rebuild a drive in RAID 6?

I am building a 7-disk RAID 6 array on a DELL MD3000 DAS box. My first task is storage space, so I want to use a 2TB drive – but I am worried about how long it will take to rebuild a failed disk Time.

Is there a formula to determine how long the drive will take to rebuild when the array is offline? on-line?

Rebuild time vs. hardware details (RAID level, interface, drive size, speed, driver and firmware Quality) as well as system load, disk size, and disk utilization are all very subjective. This makes it very difficult to provide valuable estimates.

Having said that, run a RAID 6 array and rebuild a The performance degradation should be minimal when driving. (If you rebuild a RAID 1 or RAID 5 array, the impact will be even greater.)

I know this doesn’t really answer your question, but this is what I have The best.

Reconstruction time is affected by hardware details (RAID level, interface, drive size, rotation speed, driver and firmware quality) as well as system load, disk size and disk utilization All are very subjective. This makes it very difficult to provide valuable estimates.
